Tour Plan

8:00 AM – Hotel Pickup in Dhaka

Your Dhaka to Sonargaon tour begins with a warm greeting by your professional local guide. You’ll depart Dhaka in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, heading east toward Sonargaon, the old capital of Bengal and a key hub in Bangladesh's ancient trade routes. As your Sonargaon day excursion begins, enjoy commentary from your guide on the cultural and historical highlights you’ll encounter.

Visit Banglar Tajmahal

Kick off your Sonargaon sightseeing with a visit to the Banglar Tajmahal, a remarkable replica of the Indian original. This architectural curiosity is perfect for those on a Sonargaon architecture tour or Sonargaon photography tour, offering intricate domes and a peaceful setting to capture beautiful memories.

Explore Goaldi Mosque

Continue your historical Sonargaon tour with the Goaldi Mosque, one of the few remaining Sultanate-era structures in Bangladesh. Built in the early 16th century, this small yet elegant mosque showcases terracotta work and historical Islamic art that is central to a true Sonargaon heritage site tour.

Discover Panam Nagar (Panam City Tour)

Welcome to the crown jewel of your Sonargaon ancient city tour—Panam Nagar. Also known as Panam City, this ghost town is lined with over 50 abandoned colonial mansions that belonged to Hindu merchants in the 1800s. Strolling through its eerie lanes during your Panam City tour feels like stepping into a time capsule. It’s a key highlight in any guided tour to Sonargaon, especially if you're passionate about photography, history, or architecture.

Visit Sonargaon Folk Art and Craft Museum

No Sonargaon museum visit is complete without exploring the Folk Art and Craft Museum, housed in the Sardar Bari Palace. Inside, find a vibrant collection of traditional textiles, pottery, masks, musical instruments, and rural lifestyle artifacts. This is where your Sonargaon cultural tour comes alive, offering deep insight into Bengal’s village life, artistry, and identity.

Bengali Lunch Break

Pause your adventure with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Savor traditional Bengali flavors—fresh fish, rice, vegetables, and sweets—served in a relaxed, authentic setting. It’s a much-needed break in your Sonargaon full day tour, and a cultural treat all on its own.

Meghna River Boat Ride to Nuner Tek Village

Hop aboard a country boat for a serene Sonargaon river boat tour across the Meghna River. This part of the tour offers a peaceful break and beautiful landscapes, perfect for those craving a quiet escape from city life. Arrive at Nuner Tek, a quiet fishing village, where you’ll witness traditional life along the riverbank. This Meghna River day trip gives you a rare glimpse into how rural communities live, work, and thrive. It’s more than sightseeing—it’s a true River and heritage tour Sonargaon experience.

4:00 PM – Return Drive to Dhaka

With your mind full of stories and your camera full of images, it’s time to head back. Sit back and relax during the return ride to Dhaka, reflecting on a memorable Sonargaon private tour that has shown you the depth of Bangladesh’s history and heart.

Sonargaon Day Tour

This was the first of two visits with Siraj from Cittagang visits. Much obliged Siraj, and our driver for an incredible day. We went to Sonargaon and saw notable structures as well as truly fun children who were so agreeable and quick to meet me; Panem which was astounding and had such an intriguing outing across the waterway to a little town, again to be met with invitingness and graciousness. An incredible outing - especially when trapped in unbelievable downpour returning with transports being washed under the bridge flood pipes, prompting more noteworthy blockage than expected. try not to pass up on the chance to go out traveling like this: it gives you such knowledge into this captivating nation and its kin..

Huge variety and diversity

This was the first of two tours with Jafar from Taabu tours. Thanks Jafar, and our driver for a great day. We went to Sonargaon and saw not only historic buildings but also really fun kids who were so friendly and keen to meet me; Panem that was amazing and had such an interesting excursion across the river to a small village, again to be met with friendliness and courtesy. A great day out - particularly when caught in unreal rain coming back with buses being washed under the overpass overflow pipes, leading to greater congestion than usual. don't miss the opportunity to go on a trip like this: it gives you such an insight into this fascinating country and its people..

Great trip with lots to see!

This company was really wonderful to work with! I booked the wrong day originally; they were very nice about it and helped me rebook. Also, I am a solo female traveler so was a bit nervous and they put me completely at ease. I had two guides and a driver who were all professional and fun to be with all day. I felt safe the entire time! The sites were beautiful, especially the ancient city. If going to the fishing village, do not forget to bring candy for women and children. The entire trip was enjoyable and very professional. ** as a visiter, you will be asked to take photos with many locals. If you are uncomfortable with this, I would mention it to the guide.

This tour was excellent. It is a good...

This tour was excellent. It is a good change from the noise and bustle of Dhaka. We visited Panam City with a lot of history on its buildings. We enjoyed the boat trip to a fisherman village. We got to meet locals who live without water nor electricity. They were friendly and hospitable. Bring candy for the kids if you visit them, they will love that. Our tour guide Kashem was amazing. He has good knowledge and was very courteous and hospitable. He took care of us every step of the way. We highly recommend this tour. Not to be missed!!!..
