Your guide will share stories of how the statue was uncovered and discuss its significance in Thai culture.

Grand Palace & Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)

The next highlight of your Private Bangkok City Tour is the Grand Palace, one of the most famous landmarks in Thailand. The palace, once home to the Thai monarchy, is a majestic site with its stunning architecture and intricate details. Inside the Grand Palace complex, visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), one of the most revered temples in Thailand. The Emerald Buddha, carved from jade, is a symbol of Thailand’s spiritual and cultural identity.

Traditional Thai Lunch

After exploring the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, it’s time for a delicious, traditional Thai lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy an authentic Bangkok meal, with options like Pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and Green Curry, providing a true taste of Thai cuisine.

Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

In the afternoon, head to Wat Arun, known as the Temple of Dawn. Situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, this temple is a true architectural marvel. The central spire of the temple, decorated with porcelain tiles, rises above the river and offers incredible views of the surrounding area. Take a few moments to explore the temple’s inner courtyard and enjoy the tranquility.

Wat Pho – Temple of the Reclining Buddha

Next, visit Wat Pho, home to the famous Reclining Buddha statue. At 46 meters in length, this colossal statue is one of the largest of its kind. Wat Pho is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage, and here you can learn more about Thai healing practices and relax in the peaceful temple grounds.

A full day in Bangkok

We had an amazing full day tour of Bangkok with Mr. Wat. He picked us up at our hotel arriving early and immediately presented us with fruit and traditional Thai sweets. Our tour included the Golden Buddha, the Emerald Buddha, the Grand Palace, Temple of Dawn, and the Reclining Buddha, everything that we wanted to see. Mr. Wat provided information on the sites themselves as well as commentary on everyday life in Thailand. It was a day well spent!.

Fabulous tour of temples and palace. Don’t miss this one!

Fantastic tour of Bangkok. We had the most wonderful guide Chanin. He was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient. He allowed us to take our time at sites so we could take a lot of photos. We saw all the major temples and walked the palace grounds. Ate at a fantastic little restaurant and even walked through the flower market. Absolutely loved our day..

Great tour for a one day overview of Bangkok

My wife and I truly enjoyed our full day tour of Bangkok. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and shared so much of Thailand's rich history throughout the day. We visited several temples, which were incredible, especially the reclining Buddha. We also had lunch at a local restaurant and visited the flower market, which was fun. We even took a short ferry ride across the river to get to one temple. Be prepared to walk a lot (over 10K steps) and wear appropriate temple dress-I was fine in long pants, polo shirt and flip-flops. My wife wore a sleeveless dress and used a shawl to cover her shoulders, which had been fine at other temples in Phuket and Chang Mai, but at the Grand Palace this was not deemed acceptable, so she had a buy a shirt (100 baht from a local vendor). Our guide gave us water at the start of the tour, but be prepared to buy more along the way as the humidity is brutal! We were so glad to have this expert guidance, as navigating these busy and crowded tourist sites on our own would have been next to impossible. If you only have one day (like we did) I would highly recommend doing this full day tour..

Fabulous private tour

The tour was amazing. Miss Yuwanee was so knowledgeable, thoughtful and kind. I was so impressed with the places we went to and all the information that was given as well. I loved walking through the flower market and even folding the petals of a lotus flower. The driver was superb and I was so grateful to be in such good, safe hands. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful city highlights with me. It was unforgettable..

Incompleta

First Tour in Bangkok

This was mine and my boyfriend’s first time in Bangkok. I’m glad that we chose this tour company, our guide Gimao was very friendly, outgoing ,knowledgeable and down to earth. She made the tour enjoyable and gave us a lot of information about the different temples and murals that we were introduced to. She was also a great photographer for us. Our driver Mr. Thu was nice and got us to each destinations quickly and smoothly. We were taken to a buffet lunch on a boat and the food was really good. Our favorite were the coconut pancakes. Overall, I would recommend anyone visiting for the first time to book this tour as it will be a great way to see key sites and get a taste of what else you’d like to explore in Bangkok..

Bangkok in a day

We were looking for a a way to see the major temples and sites in Bangkok but only had a few days in town, so we booked the Private tour. Gimao and our driver “Billy” picked us up at the Shangri-La hotel. We had confirmed with the tour company by email the day before and they were very quick to get back to us. Our guide and driver took us through China town to the Golden Buddha and then for a walk through the market. A little shopping ensued. We also made it to the flower market, which is fascinating and beautiful. The palace grounds are almost sensory overload with the numerous temples built by the Kings over the years. We cant tour the actual palace (no longer in use except rare state occasions) but that was little matter as the rest of the site was more than amazing. Lunch was at a small place, family run, near the Palace and was great, with fantastic service by the family, with the Matriarch stopping by frequently to check on us. The reclining Buddha, Dawn Temple, a boat ride in a long boat (a little bit of a challenge to get in and out but a great way to get down the canals and see more of the real Bangkok), completed our day. I am sure I have left something out, but we got back to the hotel certain we had hit the complete list. Our guid was fantastic, she had details on the sites as well as gave us insights to family life in modern Thailand. Our only issue as pasty 60 yr old Midwesterners was the heat. Even in November the heat indices as over 90, and the crowds don’t help. This is where an air conditioned car and someone who knows how to pace the visit really pays off. Gimao continuously produced water bottles for us and found bathroom stops. Overall I would recommend highly and encourage this for anyone wanting to get to know Bangkok in a day.
